Updating
Your Avigo SDK Beta Version
This is the final release version of the Avigo SDK. It is a free update from
versions 1.00 (beta) and 1.01 (beta)
The patch for the SDK is organized as an install/setup which overwrites the
previously installed version of the SDK.
To update the SDK you will need to download the three PKZIP archive files, AVGPAT-1.ZIP,
AVGPAT-2.ZIP and AVGPAT-3.ZIP. Copy these files to the ROOT DIRECTORY of a logical
hard drive. Note that you must use the root directory or the installation will
not work.
Avgpat-1.zip (1.02M)
Avgpat-2.zip (494K)
Avgpat-3.zip (1.15M)
Unzip these files using PKZIP version 2.04g or later with the -d option to recreate
the directory structure for the distribution files. From your Windows 95 Run
menu, execute the file SETUP.EXE on the drive where you de-archived the ZIP
files. In following the set-up prompts, select the directory of your beta version
as the destination directory.
For the most part, the patching process overwrites certain files with later
versions which have been updated. It also removes certain files from the sample
code subdirectories which can have an adverse effect on running the simulator;
FALCON.INI, FALCON.PIF, FALCON.DTP.
Changes
With the patch installed, you have effectively updated to version 1.02 of the
SDK.
1. Tutorial and other sample projects will now run in the Avigo simulator without
difficulty.
2. The "Tutorial" sample code now requires you to run ICON2DOT (in
a DOS window) to generate the necessary header files. The project code will
not build without these. See the on-line help.
3. The AVGIDE IDE now allows you to enter the names of Data Files for your project.
4. The AVGIDE IDE now allows you to specify a Graphics File for your project.
5. The SDK no longer links in the whole library when building projects - only
that necessary to resolve external references.
6. The on-line help has been revised and improved.
